Japanese Buddhist Statues Store
You will find here a
selection of Japanese Buddhist statues or Japanese
Buddhas. Japanese art is greatly influenced from the Indian and
Chinese style but will differ a little to take a very Japanese
flavor. The Japanese statues will reflect this.
Buddhist statues are usually used to worship or to meditate.
In the West, it is not uncommon to put a Buddha in the garden, to give
the garden a touch of mysticism or simply to give it a zen style.
In the selection above, we have statues of Amida , Yakushi, and Kannon (also known as Kwan Yin in China). There is also a good selection of Jizo for your enjoyment.
The laughing Buddha is not usually seen in Japan so I did not include it
in this selection, except the laughing Buddha book-ends, which I find
really nice.
I am not entirely satisfied with the selection of statues available
online so if you are interested in getting real stone (granite) statues
from Japan, let me know, I can get them for you. They might be
expensive to ship but to buy they are quite reasonable.
