What are the prayers for Tina Turner’s Buddhist religion?

by Terry Greenwood

(Kemah,Texas,U.S.A.)

THE QUESTION:

Ten years ago I practiced Buddhism and I need to have a copy of the prayers. I want to practice again.

My answer:

Tina Turner practices Buddhism in the Soka Gakkai tradition. The prayers you are referring to are surely the Namu Myoho Renge Kyo and other texts recited by them. It would be better for you to get in touch with your local SGI chapter to get them.
They have a chapter in Houston:

Hi. I chant a book called Shoshinge, which is the traditional chanting in Pure Land Buddhism. You can easily find it online with the translation of each line. If you want to know more about each line, I will be more than happy to share with you. Just contact me.
