How does SGI save a person and address evil in the world?

I briefly experimented with SGI in the 1990s and found that most of the people were very nice. Chanting the same thing over and over again, was relaxing, however it never came to any means as a way to explain life and things that happen around us. It never explained good and evil. Needless to say chanting the same phrase and wishing for personal things to happen for me never amounted to anything tangible. This was one of the main reasons I returned to Christ after leaving Christianity for eight years to pursue Buddhism. Jesus can only make us right in the eyes of the creator. Self change only can go so far (no divinity in it). I hope one day others members of the SGI will come to the same realization I did.
