Response to “Sectarian quarrels between Buddhist Schools”

(Chazy, NY USA)
I am not familiar with SGI but this my reponse. I live in Chazy, NY. in November 1966 I became Buddhist at the hands of my babysitter, Ellen Fisher, then 15. I was 6. Although catholic both my parents supported the decision and supported Ellen as well.
I am now 52 still Buddhist. Catholics and others where I live have granted support (small percentage) but there is a segment of catholics and protestants that are quite bigoted. Not to mention both Ellen and me have North American Indian bloodlines.
However, in 1968 Ellen was killed in a brutal car wreck at the age of 17. I was 8 at the time. The loss was devistating. Yet on 6 Aug 68 Ellen appeared to me and her mother making the announcement, “Hi Charlie I am now your Guardian Angel.”
Thats when the real bigotry started against me and Ellen.
I after close to 44 years I am still buddhist and so is Ellen.
Here is a picture of Ellen.

Thank you for your testimonial Charlie. I put it in the “Tell us about you” section as it belonged there more than in the SGI controversy section.
