I’m 16 and I never felt like I belonged to any religion until we did a project in school about religions and I saw Buddhism.

I want to be a Buddhist, but I’m only 16 and I don’t have anyone in my family who has my beliefs.

This isn’t some fad or a phase, it feels right in my heart. But I don’t know how to be a Buddhist, so I’m researching and trying to learn.

It makes me feel like this part of me is fixed and where it’s supposed to be if that makes sense.

Lizzy,

I know exactly how you feel. From the age of 11 I have felt a very strong connections with all things Japanese. At the time, there was no internet (remember that time folks?) so I had to go to libraries in order to fix my thirst for knowledge. Now, with the internet, it’s much easier to find pertinent information on things that interest you.

You should read as much as you can and maybe reach out to a group in your area. Why not start a Buddhist group in your school?
